Iloilo First Before the World!

Iloilo First Before the World!

Since I was younger, my dream destinations has always been New York, Paris, Amsterdam, Rome and Italy. Back then there was no trend of Google or Wikipedia, but there was this thing called “The World Book of Encyclopaedia”. I would always check on this places and watch all the pictures in those very entertaining and informative pages of that book. You see, I was very fascinated with those Classical, Historical and romantic places and their famous and colourful history.  Added to this is the captivating and stunning historical architectural edifices of these countries that brings vibrancy and beauty to their culture.

Once my childhood friend asked me “if you would be given an opportunity to visit any place where would it be?” I answered her that I would prefer to go to all of these places. As we all say, opportunity knocks only once so why savour it and enjoy the moment of traveling the places that we want to go while we have time and still have the strength of our youth.

I love travelling and like what I’ve said, this heart of mine is meant to travel the world but I had this one realization in my mind. All my life I’ve been wanting to visit these foreign countries- to get to know the people, get to know each of their Culture, get to enjoy the grandeur of their famous landmarks but I have never desired to visit many beautiful spot in my own country. Spots that are magnificent not because they are made of gold or the queens have resided to it but they are beautiful because they are natural and they are God- given. I forgot that I need to get to know my country first, to get to know the people and patronize everything that my country can offer first before I love anything else.

I had this chance to roam around the city because my best friend would always text me asking where and what place here in Iloilo is the best place to unwind and have coffee while bursting out our depressions with school back when we were in college. I realized that this place- Iloilo, have so much more to offer. I realized that, like any other country my country also have a very colourful history. And so it happened that we both decided to roam around the city particularly inside the Iloilo Business Park.

While walking along the Megaworld Boulevard, I noticed that there are still workers who is having their overtime constructing three of the towers of Iloilo Business Park. I ask one of the worker what are those towers that they are constructing and he immediately answered that the building is ONE MADISON PLACE tower one, two and three.

I wonder what it look like when it will be completely constructed. When I got home, I immediately looked for my laptop and searched for that three towers. I was completely stunned and captivated by its master development plan and it really drives me to work hard so that someday and If God will bless me according to His will, I also want to have one of those units.
I knew by surfing the internet that the Madison Place of Iloilo Business Park will suit the preference of residents who are looking for a new approach of lifestyle here in Iloilo. The buildings have a highly-creative and artistic living and impressive amenities such as swimming pool, pocket gardens with reading nook and fitness gym. The tower one has its own amenities and the tower two and three has its shared amenities. All of these beautifully designed edifice complements the visionary lifestyle concept of space and vision where they can experience a magnificent lifestyle.

I really can’t wait to see these residential hotels with the most classy condominium units in the region because its amenities are perfectly satisfying and the high-end lifestyle it showcases.
This is just another thing that we, Filipinos particularly us, Ilonggos should be proud of. There is no doubt Iloilo is one of the many place you should appreciate first before appreciating what the foreign countries can offer. Because by loving our own, we can make everyone in the world love our country as well. And because we exerted our efforts to get to know our country, we are ready to face the world and travel wherever we might want to go while we talk about how proud we are as Filipino and as an Ilonggo.

Iloilo: From Past to Present

Iloilo: From Past to Present

When I was a kid, I'm really fond of seeing some old pictures or photographs of old and European inspired buildings in some magazines, books and articles. How I wish I could see some of them in reality. I remember that my father would always bring me and my twin sister to my Mother's workplace which is located at the downtown area of the city. I can vividly recall how I was amazed by the building I’ve seen especially along the streets of Calle Real. Though others may seem like they don’t recognize the building's design and structure, but we really appreciate it. My Tatay and Nanay (Father and Mother) has told us the brief history of how Iloilo had those beautiful buildings. The dream of seeing those buildings which I’ve seen in the magazines, books and articles when I was a kid, has come to reality when  I passed along the streets of Calle Real   today.
Iloilo was once the center of business and the most progressive city next to Manila. It was the favorite city of the Queen of Spain and it also became her home in the Philippines. By then, the queen called the street as "Calle Real" and Iloilo City as the "Queen's City of the South" due to Iloilo's progressiveness during the Spanish era.
While my sister and I felt the joy and pleasure brought by seeing those buildings, I caught myself thinking of the scenarios back in the Spanish time where the City of Love is still progressive. I also thought that I hope someday, Iloilo would once again show its glory. My twin sister once told me that she hopes to see the local government paying attention in renovating and preserving the buildings that once showed the glory and the richness of Iloilo.
Today, the local government of the province has allotted a fund in preserving those buildings. It really feels so good to see the beauty of those buildings and when I happen to pass by that street, it suddenly came to my mind that it was the old and classical version of one of the longest shop-and-dine street in the Philippines, the Festive Walk Promenade of the Iloilo Business Park today.
For years that Iloilo has been quiet in terms of business and in developing infrastructure, the city has now became the center of business and the number one target for development in the Philippines.
There is no surprise that Iloilo is booming again by making a name of itself as the center of economic development. In remembering the city's colorful history, culture and ecological resources, Iloilo is now recreating the progressive, rich and colorful past today. And now, Iloilo is showcasing its treasured historical buildings, captivating natural landscape, cultural tradition, rich heritage, and colorful festival celebration. That's why, International travelers and investors who came to visit and invest often discover that all the best reasons why they should visit and invest in the Philippines should be in Iloilo.
